Xander Mac is a student-athlete, scholar, and aspiring engineer — a 2026 graduate of Yorktown High School heading to the University of Maine to study Computer Engineering.
Growing up, he tried nearly every sport and extracurricular activity imaginable — like horseback riding, Boy Scouts, & even playing the mandolin — before endurance sport found him. He began swimming with Cardinal Swim Club at age seven and completed his first super sprint triathlon at ten.
That same year, Xander lost his mother to cancer. Grief pulled him behind academically. Through faith, family, and years of quiet, steady work, he caught back up — then excelled. National Honor Society. Honors, AP, and dual-credit courses. Cum Laude. Senior Class Vice President. Four years varsity Swimming and four years on the Cross Country and Track teams...
